We believe in the power of connection. Our transdisciplinary team works closely with families, educators, and other health professionals to create a nurturing, coordinated plan that supports your child’s development across all areas.

Explore the support we offer at each stage: Early Childhood (0–6), School Aged (7–12), and Teenagers (13–16).

Every child develops at their own pace, but if you’re noticing delays in speech, difficulty understanding or using words, or challenges with social interaction, it might be time to seek support. At The Bridge Effect, we offer gentle, no-pressure assessments to help you understand your child’s communication needs. You’re not alone—we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Our sessions are play-based, engaging, and tailored to your child’s interests and goals. We use fun, evidence-based activities to build communication skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. Parents are always welcome to be involved—we believe therapy works best when it’s a team effort.
We empower parents with practical strategies, resources, and ongoing support so you can confidently help your child thrive between sessions. From everyday routines to playtime, we’ll show you how to turn moments into meaningful learning opportunities.
No. You can contact The Bridge Effect directly to book a speech assessment for your child. A referral from a GP or paediatrician is welcome if you have one — bring it along — but it is not required.
We assess and support children from 12 months through to 16 years. If you have concerns about a baby under 12 months — for example, around feeding, vocalisation, or early communication — contact us and we can advise on the right pathway.
Fees vary depending on the service and whether your child is funded through NDIS, Medicare, or private health insurance. Contact us for our current fee schedule. NDIS-funded clients are charged at the NDIS Pricing Arrangements rate. Medicare CDM rebates reduce the out-of-pocket cost for up to 5 sessions per calendar year.
Yes. Speech therapy is funded under the Capacity Building — Supports for Daily Living budget for children with communication support needs. The Bridge Effect supports NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants. We are not currently a registered NDIS provider, so we are unable to work with NDIA/agency-managed plans directly. Children under 9 without an NDIS plan may also be eligible through the Early Childhood Approach — contact us to discuss.
Absolutely. We celebrate the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of Western Sydney. Our therapists are trained in culturally responsive care and understand the unique needs of bilingual and multilingual families. We’ll work with you to support your child’s communication in all the languages that matter to your family.
Yes — and for many children, this combination is highly beneficial. Speech and OT difficulties often co-occur, and seeing both therapists at the same clinic means they can coordinate their approach and share progress notes. Ask us about combining services when you enquire.

We understand that therapy is a significant investment, and we want to make it as accessible as possible. Most families use NDIS, Medicare, private health insurance, or a mix of the three to help fund speech therapy — here’s a quick summary of each, with full detail on our Funding Options page.
The Bridge Effect supports NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants. Speech therapy is typically funded under Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living. We are unable to work with NDIA-managed (agency-managed) plans directly.
If your child is under 9 and does not yet have an NDIS plan, they may be eligible for early intervention support through the NDIS Early Childhood Approach (ECA). Under this pathway, a child does not need a formal diagnosis to access funded therapy. Contact us to discuss whether this pathway might apply to your family. Learn more about NDIS funding here.
Medicare offers several rebate pathways for speech therapy — most commonly a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year, shared across professions) or, for a suspected or diagnosed complex neurodevelopmental disorder, the Item 135 pathway (up to 8 assessment + 20 treatment sessions per lifetime, under 25). A referral must be in place before your first eligible session. See all four Medicare pathways and item numbers: Medicare Rebates page.
Many private health insurance policies with extras cover include a speech pathology benefit. The amount varies by fund and level of cover, and Medicare and private health rebates can’t both be claimed for the same session. Contact your insurer to confirm your entitlement before your first appointment — we can provide receipts in the format required for health fund claims. Full detail: Private Health Insurance page.
Families who are not funded through NDIS or Medicare are welcome to attend as private clients. Our current fee schedule is available on request — contact us or ask at the time of booking. Not sure which pathway fits your family? See our full Funding Options guide or get in touch.
