School Holiday Social Groups

Connect. Communicate. Grow.

Our school holiday social groups give children the opportunity to practise communication, play and social skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Led by an Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist, each small group brings together children of a similar age, communication level and support needs. Through purposeful play and everyday routines, children build confidence, develop friendships and practise using their skills with peers.

Whether your child is beginning to communicate or developing more advanced conversation and social interaction skills, we’ll match them with a group where they can feel comfortable, included and supported.

Why We Run Social Groups

Social development happens through shared experiences. Group activities help children build confidence, navigate different situations, take turns, solve problems, and form meaningful connections.

Led by an occupational therapist and speech pathologist, each session brings communication, emotional regulation, sensory support, play, and everyday independence together in a fun and engaging way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our school holiday social groups give children the opportunity to practise their skills in a small, structured group with peers who have similar communication, support needs, and social interaction. While individual therapy is valuable for learning new skills, children also need opportunities to apply these skills with other children in a more natural social environment’s communication.

Activities are planned to support skills such as transitioning between the playground and classroom, participating in collaborative play, communicating and problem-solving with peers, managing belongings, following group routines, and participating in mealtimes with others.

Each group combines the expertise of an occupational therapist and a speech pathologist. This allows us to support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, sensory needs, play and everyday independence within the same activities that matter to your family.

Yes! We welcome enquiries from external families. A pre-screening process is completed to help us understand each child’s needs and determine whether the group is an appropriate fit. Children are then grouped according to their age, communication skills and support needs.

Our therapists will match your child to a group based on age, ability and communication stage. Give us a call at (02) 9037 1163 or contact us to register — sessions must be booked by 31 August 2026.
