Every child starts with an assessment rather than a pre-set program. We establish a baseline, agree two or three goals with you, and review them openly as your child progresses.
Sessions are play-based but purposeful. You get a short summary each time: what we worked on, what shifted, and one thing to practise before the next visit. If a goal is not moving after a fair trial, we say so and change the approach.

Birth to 16 years. Early referrals are welcome: with infants and toddlers, the evidence for early intervention is strong, and there is no lower age limit on an initial conversation.
Roughly 5km, or about 10 minutes by car. Free on-site parking is available, so there is no need to budget extra time to find a spot.
Common triggers include: few or no words by two, speech that unfamiliar listeners cannot understand by three, trouble following instructions at school, stuttering that persists beyond six months, or a preference for gesture over speech. An assessment gives you a clear picture and a recommendation — including, sometimes, that no therapy is needed.
Typically 45 minutes: a short warm-up, targeted work on the current goal delivered through play, then a few minutes with you to hand over the home practice. Parents are welcome in the room throughout, and we would rather you were.
Yes. A bilingual assessment looks at a child’s skills across all their languages, not just English, because a difficulty only counts as a disorder if it shows up in every language they use. We will ask about home language exposure as part of the intake and factor it into the results.

No. Speech pathology is a self-referral service — book directly with us. A GP or paediatrician referral is only relevant if you plan to claim a Medicare rebate, which has its own eligibility rules — ask us and we will point you in the right direction. Existing reports are useful; bring them if you have them.
Self-managed and plan-managed. The Bridge Effect is not currently a registered NDIS provider. That means we cannot work with NDIA/agency-managed plans directly. Where a plan is self-managed or plan-managed and includes Capacity Building funding for speech therapy, we can work within it.
