Speech Therapy in Westmead

You will always know what we are working on and why. Every session finishes with one or two things to practise at home, chosen to fit a real week rather than an ideal one — and if something isn’t working, we change it rather than persist with it.

Infancy through to 16 years. If something about a baby or toddler’s communication is worrying you, please don’t wait for them to grow out of it — the earlier we look, the more we can usually do.

There is rarely one single sign. Most families come to us because something has been quietly nagging at them: a toddler using very few words, a preschooler that strangers struggle to understand, or a school-aged child who finds it hard to follow instructions or join in with friends. An assessment gives you a clear answer either way, with no obligation to continue.
Play, mostly — but play with a purpose. We build activities around whatever your child is currently interested in, because that is when language sticks. You are welcome to sit in, and most parents do; we will show you what to carry over at home so the other six days of the week count too.
Yes, and we will never ask you to drop a home language. Speaking more than one language does not cause speech delay. Our therapists work across your child’s whole language profile and support communication in every language your family uses.

No. You can contact us directly to book an assessment. If a GP, paediatrician or hospital team has already written a referral or report, please bring it along — it gives us useful background — but nothing about booking depends on having one.
The Bridge Effect supports NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants. We are not currently a registered NDIS provider, so we are unable to work with NDIA/agency-managed plans directly. If your child’s plan is self-managed or plan-managed and includes Capacity Building funding for speech therapy, we can work within it — and we are happy to talk it through with you before you book.
