Speech Therapy in Oatlands
Some children talk plenty at home and go quiet the moment they are somewhere new. For Oatlands parents that makes it genuinely hard to know whether to wait and see or to ask someone. Booking an assessment does not commit you to anything. It just gets you an answer.
Our clinic is in Northmead, around 4.5km from Oatlands and an estimated nine to eleven minutes by car. It is a purpose-built space, deliberately calm, with small therapy rooms rather than one busy open floor.
First appointments are unhurried. We play, we watch, we listen to you, and you leave knowing where your child sits.
An initial consultation runs about an hour. Your child plays, and our speech pathologist joins in and quietly notices what they do with sounds, words, sentences and back-and-forth conversation. There is no desk, no test to sit and nothing your child has to perform.
Afterwards we tell you plainly what we saw, whether it sits within the usual range for their age, and what we would suggest next. Some families leave with a therapy plan. Others leave with two or three things to try at home and a date to check back in.
Our speech pathologists work with children from their first words through to the teenage years, including:

We see children from infancy through to 16 years. If you have concerns about a baby or toddler, we encourage you to contact us early — early intervention makes a real difference to outcomes.
Around 4.5km, or an estimated nine to eleven minutes by car via James Ruse Drive. Parking on site is free, so there is no meter to watch during the session.
Every child develops at their own pace, but if you’re noticing delays in speech, difficulty understanding or using words, or challenges with social interaction, it might be time to seek support. At The Bridge Effect, we offer gentle, no-pressure assessments to help you understand your child’s communication needs. You’re not alone — we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Our sessions are play-based, engaging, and tailored to your child’s interests and goals. We use fun, evidence-based activities to build communication skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. Parents are always welcome to be involved — we believe therapy works best when it’s a team effort.

No. You can book an assessment with us directly, without a GP or paediatrician referral. If a referral or an earlier report already exists, bring it, but nothing is held up waiting for one.
Yes. We support NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants. We are not currently a registered NDIS provider, so we are unable to work with NDIA or agency-managed plans directly. If your child’s plan includes funding for speech therapy under Capacity Building, we can work within it.
We work with families across Parramatta, the Hills District and the wider Western Sydney area. You can see the full list on the
